Angela McNair

Angela McNair grew up in Los Angeles communities. She engages rebellious and movement lawyering approaches in her practice.  She is deeply passionate about education equity and policy advocacy and partners with communities actively dismantling the school to prison pipeline.  

Angela previously managed the Housing and Communities Workgroup's movement lawyering practice at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.  Angela started her legal career as a Skadden Fellow at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles supporting women and families with children in Skid Row.  Angela then developed a practice at the Los Angeles Center for Law And Justice that provided holistic legal services to young survivors of sexual trauma.  Angela also previously worked with Ruth and Ashleigh at Public Counsel in the Statewide Education Project.  Angela was a Women's Policy Institute Fellow and a Rise Economy Racial and Economic Justice Fellow.  

Angela supports community and advocates in infusing solidarity practices and movement approaches into state level legislative advocacy efforts.  She obtained her J.D from UC Berkeley School of Law.  She graduated magna cum laude with international distinction from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration.
